The need for Woman rights gave birth to women activists. Women movement, struggled at all levels to gain their status which was to have equal rights and opportunities as men. After the 1850s forward, the crusade for equal rights for women became concentrated on winning the right to vote, also known as woman suffrage. Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton headed the movement for women’s suffrage in the United States. Woman Suffrage movement also came to apparition in countries such as Poland, Soviet Union, New Zealand, Germany, Austria and Sweden.
In 1792, in England, A woman known as Mary Wollstonecraft wrote a document which in it she wrote down the Justification of the Rights of Woman. In her piece of work, Mary Wollstonecraft requested for equality and better education for women. Still in this aspect, Wollstonecraft made the first sustained criticism in relation to the social system which downgraded women to a mediocre status. This act of Mary Wollstonecraft gave birth to small women movements which made public request of equal rights as men in every sector in the early 19th century. This act gave women in other countries the courage to stand up for women rights as well.
