Famous African American History is focused on  important people in U.S history who have impacted or contributed to the history of the united states and have also influenced the world in one way or the other. Several articles have been written about famous black people in the history of the united states but this article focuses mainly on their history and what actually made them unique among all other things. This article will make mention of famous blacks such as Martin Luther King, Jr, Rosa Parks, Frederick Douglass, W. E. B. Du Bois, Louis Armstrong, Thurgood Marshall, Jackie Robinson, Harriet Tubman, Booker T. Washington, and briefly some few others.

Martin Luther King, Jr. one of the Most Famous  African American History People who was born in 1923 and died in 1968. Martin Luther King, Jr. was an American clergyman and one of the most important figures and main leader of the famous American civil right movement. Martin Luther’s approach and principles towards advocating his protest was that of a non-violence approach.  The issues of racial discrimination and racial segregation which king faced and stood up against in the early 1950s and 1960s made king to win the support of several white Americans for his cause. This made king unique and his contribution to the history of America which brought change through his Leading the civil rights movement in the United States Advocating nonviolent protest against segregation and racial discrimination. Despite his assassination in 1968, what he stood for produced positive results after his death.

Rosa Parks, one of the most popular female Famous in African American History of The United States of America, was born 1913 and died in 2005. She was an active member in civil right movement of African Americans. What made her special and unique is that despite the hard law which was put place against black people, and the hash consequence of not respecting the hard law, Rosa Parks was so courageous enough to refuse to give her seat in the bus up for a white man. This incidence took place in Montgomery, Alabama in 1955 which led to bus boycott in Montgomery and an increased nonviolence protest against racial discrimination. Her action did not only motivate the black men and women to stand up for their rights all over the world, but it also instigated courage and awareness in the heart of white women in United States as well.

Frederick Douglass is one of the most Famous Black People in the History of African American. He had an outstanding passion as a prominent orator and Journalist. In the 19th century he was also known as a renowned antislavery leader. His contribution in American history is that he crusaded through his three published versions of his life history to put an end to slavery. His experience as a free black and rise to prominence was a source of inspiration to many others.

W. E. B. Du Bois is a sociologist and historian who was born in 1868. Du bois is one of the Most Famous People in Black American History who played an important role in black history in the united states through the conducting of preliminary research on the experience of black in the united states of America. This preliminary research work paved the way black power movements, civil rights and pan-Africanism in the united states. W. E. B. Du Bois died in 1963 while known as an advocate of pan-Africanis, and advancing black civil rights in America.

Louis Armstrong, a famous black in the history of the united states of America born in 1901, known for his skills in American Jazz, singing, cornet and trumpet player, bandleader and renown entertainer. Armstrong has help to influence in America through his subsequent instrumental and vocal music. He contributed greatly in developing and creating a style know as swing which later form the basis for most jazz and rhythm-and blues popularly known as R and B. Thurgood Marshall born in 1908, one of the Most Famous People in Black American History known as a jurist, and for being the first black to become justice on the Supreme Court of the United States of America. Marshall contributed to U.S history and became famous as a civil right lawyer due to the fact that his success through a legal case which he won which put an end to segregation in schools, thereby making segregation unconditional in public schools. This made him unique and special among successful black people in American history which need to be remembered.

Jackie Robinson  , born in 1919, is one of the Famous black people in the history of the united states, who through his athletic skills in America demonstrated became a civil right Icon. This was done in 1947 through a major baseball league. Robinson broke the color barrier through his outstanding performance baseball. American athlete who became a civil rights icon when he broke the color barrier in major league baseball in 1947. As an American athlete, his impact on sport and on the American society greatly demonstrated his contribution on American history.

Harriet Tubman, born in 1820, is one of the female famous black people in the united states history, an African American, known to have escaped slavery and then directed runaway slaves and ushered them in to their freedom to the north through the underground railroad before the American Civil War (1861-1865). During the war she served as a scout, spy, and nurse for the Army of the United States. The contribution in American history remains unforgotten as even in her later years she continued to work, and fight for the rights of black men and women.

Booker T. Washington born in 1856, one of the famous black people in the history of the united states of America was known to be an American educator, who advised and encourage black people to try and elevate themselves through educational accomplishments and economic improvement. Washington’s contribution in the history of the united states of America is seen through the Founding the Tuskegee Institute (now Tuskegee University) and the National Negro Business League.

But there are others as well such as Malcom x who was known for advocating black nationalism and Known for Promoting black independence and encouraging black self-respect and economic self-help,  Jesse Jackson Known for promoting racial and economic justice in the United States through  Operation PUSH (People United to Save [later Serve] Humanity) and the National Rainbow Coalition, Quincy Jones known as one of the most successful black American entrepreneurs in the history of popular music, and  attributed with helping I destroying racial walls in the music industry. These are the few most famous black people in the history of the United States of America even though there are more.
